Senior Accountant

We’re building something ambitious here at Kato and we’re looking for a Senior Financial Accountant who wants to build with us.

This isn’t a “keep-the-lights-on” accounting role. It’s a high-impact, high-ownership opportunity to take the reins of our entire day-to-day accounting function and help design the financial backbone of a fast-growing company. You’ll operate with real autonomy, owning core accounting operations end-to-end while working side-by-side with our VP of Finance on statutory reporting, controls, and audit readiness, You’ll also partner closely with our revenue finance lead to ensure reporting is sharp, accurate, and scalable. Our finance team is intentionally lean and built for impact: a VP of Finance, a revenue-focused finance partner, and you.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in ownership, loves improving processes, and understands that transparency and collaboration are just as important as technical excellence. You’ll balance hands-on execution with designing smarter systems, strengthening controls, and continuously raising the bar.

What you'll be leading on:

Financial Close & Reporting

  • Lead and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close
  • Maintain the general ledger, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments and expense claims
  • Prepare management accounts and support board reporting including forecasts and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with UK GAAP (FRS 102) or IFRS, as applicable
  • Support preparation of statutory financial statements
  • Draft technical accounting documentation where required
  • Design SaaS metrics dashboards to monitor business performance

Controls, Compliance & Audit

  • Design and document accounting policies and internal controls
  • Manage the annual external audit process
  • Oversee VAT compliance and support corporate tax processes
  • Ensure Companies House and other statutory filing requirements are met
  • Build processes aligned with future scale and potential Series B readiness

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Improve close timelines and reporting accuracy
  • Optimise ERP workflows and financial integrations
  • Identify and implement automation opportunities
  • Support system enhancements as the business grows

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with the revenue finance counterpart to align bookings, billing, and recognised revenue
  • Partner with department leads to provide budget visibility and insights
  • Work with People Ops on payroll and benefits accounting
  • Support fundraising and investor reporting materials (board decks, metrics summaries)
  • Manage company expense claims
What we need from you:

We’re after someone who is eager to learn, lead, and execute.

  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Strong knowledge of UK GAAP (FRS 102) and/or IFRS
  • Experience owning month-end close in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable operating as the primary accounting owner in a lean team
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable working cross-functionally and communicating insights to non-finance teams.
  • Experience with implementing automated workflows

Associate Account Executive

Role Overview:

We’re looking for an Associate Account Executive (AAE) to join our high-performing sales team and help accelerate Kato’s expansion. In this role, you’ll own the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach to demos, closing, and long-term account growth.

You’ll work closely with our BDRs, Account Managers, and Marketing team to bring exciting commercial real estate agencies onto our platform and unlock ongoing upsell and expansion opportunities. With average deal sizes of £5-10k and a fast-moving sales motion, you’ll be signing a high volume of impactful deals.

What You’ll Be Doing:

🎯 Full-Cycle Sales Ownership

  • Manage the entire sales process: prospecting, outreach, demos, proposals, and closing.
  • Build and grow strong relationships with agency leaders and key decision-makers.

🎯 Prospecting & Pipeline Generation

  • Identify, engage, and nurture new commercial real estate opportunities.
  • Execute outbound sales activities to consistently build and manage a healthy pipeline.

🎯 Client Management & Expansion

  • Own executive-level relationships with top agencies.
  • Spot, drive, and close upsell and expansion opportunities.

🎯 Product Demonstrations

  • Deliver compelling, tailored product demos that clearly communicate Kato’s value.

🎯 CRM & Data Management

  • Maintain accurate records, pipeline data, and insights within HubSpot.
  • Track performance metrics to support forecasting and pipeline planning.

🎯 Networking & Market Presence

  • Attend trade shows, events, award ceremonies, and conferences to build brand visibility and source new business opportunities.
What We’re Looking For:

You’ll thrive in this role if you have:

  • 2+ years of closing experience in a SaaS sales role
  • A proven track record hitting or exceeding a £450k ARR quota
  • Experience winning new business and managing your own pipeline end-to-end
  • Strong relationship-building skills to unlock upsell and expansion opportunities
  • Bonus: experience in commercial /real estate
